ABOUT BRIDGEPORT

The history of Bridgeport, Texas began in February 1860 when the West Fork Bridge Company built a bridge across the West Fork of the Trinity River. In 1873 a new iron bridge was built and a post office established, thus formally creating the city of Bridgeport, TX. The city’s future was assured in 1882 when a vein of bituminous coal was discovered beneath Bridgeport. The Wise County Coal Company was formed and was a leading producer of coal for the state until competition from natural gas and petroleum closed the coal mines in 1929. In 1931, a dam was constructed approximately three miles west of town on the West Fork of the Trinity River, creating Lake Bridgeport, which remains a local center of recreation and relaxation for residents and visitors alike. During the latter half of the 20th century, Bridgeport’s oil, gas, and limestone industries continued to flourish and the town became the second largest municipality in Wise County. These industries continue to be the local economic leaders. The city has enjoyed steady growth in both its population and local economy since the early 1900’s. Mortgage and loan buyers in Bridgeport have also seen steady growth. As a local Texas company, Alamo Note Buyers offers a superior understanding of State laws, to get you through the process of selling your note faster than anyone else!
We help Texas note sellers turn their problems into cash, even with late payers, non payers, and missing paperwork!
